one year ago.

As I sit here in my pajamas, sipping a big cup of coffee and watching "My Best Friend's Wedding," I am taken back to exactly one year ago today.

We ventured to Dallas Farmers Market for the first time. The weather was exquisite. Blue skies, a strong breeze and a little warm for March.

We ate Tex-Mex at a hole-in-the-wall at the Market. He was unusually calm, collected.

We bought fresh vegetables, fruit, hanging flower baskets, and even local honey. He paid for everything, which wasn't unusual. We walked hand in hand, admiring the beautiful colors of the fruits and veggies in the stalls. It was officially spring, and it finally felt like it after two thick snows in Dallas.

We went back to my apartment and worked in the little yard, hanging those flower baskets. Sweeping the balcony. Watched the sunny weather do as Texas weather does and turn windy, cloudy and cold. Such is March in this fickle state {similar to today, actually}.

He threw out the idea of visiting White Rock Lake that evening. I complained a little, but eventually relented. He took a shower; I didn't. I must admit that I got a little curious as to why he was showering just to go walk around a lake. He left to get a smoothie at Jamba Juice (actually, he left to get my favorite cupcakes at Society Bakery) and then came back and we left for the lake.

That evening, March 27, 2010, Brandon asked me to be his wife.

And of course, I said yes.

Brandon, thank you for asking me to be your wife. I can't believe it's been a year already.
I love you.
